No Phones In School Zones?

City Councilman Julian Castro wants to outlaw using a cell phone when driving through school zones.

He sent a memo to council members saying restricting the use of cell phones in school zones will keep everyone safer.

Castro has the support of eight other council members.

He's expected to publicly announce his proposal on Sunday.

This guy is just mad because even though school zones are now "gun Free Zones", people are still able to dial 911 if criminals try anything there, and it's just not fair...

When he says it will make "us" safer, by "us" he means scumbag criminals...

This isn't really all that funny. Near our child's grade school, the soccer moms come flying out of alleys at 30 mph, yakking on the cell phones all the while. They don't even look to the right before turning right (to make sure there's no child walking in front of their car.) I hate to say it, but the more they're yakkety-yakking on the cellphone, the less attentive they seem.

Maye we should just ban soccer moms - one would think society would be a heck of a lot more safe in several ways if we do that... ;0)

Sounds like a done deal if he has the support of eight other council members... They have a ten member council plus a mayor.....
