August 18, 2002 -- Airport security screeners may soon try to read the minds of travelers in an effort to identify terrorists.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration has told Northwest Airlines security specialists the agency is developing a brain-monitoring device it hopes to someday use in airports, The Washington Times reported yesterday.

a brain-monitoring device It beats "profiling", though. hey? Can't have "profiling", can we?
To: JohnHuang2
Why are fewer people flying? Could it be the airports are being turned into an affront to human dignity Hitler's Nazi's would envy? Even the Gestapo would have focused on profiling those most likely to hijack airplanes and not little old ladies.

A Brain scanning device. Hmm, I guess I should hold onto my tin foil hat just a little bit longer. Better yet, a Jim Trafficant tinfoil toupe.

That really augments the strategy of 'body language' police, doesn't it?
A nightmare scenario is being laid out all around and among us.
Observe, measure, quantify, analyze(determine median and standard deviations), monitor, and make the sweep. Deviates are the new enemies of the state.
Political deviates, social deviates, ideaological deviates, sexual deviates, physical deviates (sorry, can't insure you)...
"The expert analysis has determined that you are likely to exhibit deviancy in one or more key characteristics. Please come with me. No, you won't need to pack anything."

It's the ghost of Elvis.
We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds

Just think of what happens when a liberal goes past this detector. It won't detect any brain waves, security will detclare that the machine isn't working and have to rescreen everyone. Sounds like a pain.

My heart beat rate quadruples whenever I get on a plane.Happens to me occasionally, depending on the "attributes" of the stewardess.

When the statistical database that is used to detect 'outliers' is populated with the people who believe there is no such thing as absolutes, then only the people who do will set off the buzzers. Perverted, isn't it?

The gadget can be used to identify flatliners at voting booths before they vote Democrat.

,,, by the time this system's developed and working well, you'll have your very own Falcon or Citation anyhow, complete with gender neutral in-flight assistant. Gotta keep that heart rate down Willie [LOL!]
