Star-Packed Full Frontal a Box-Office Dud
Did you ever think Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt would make a movie and everyone would ignore it? Well, that's the case with Steven Soderbergh's unintelligible Full Frontal.
Last weekend, in a little over 200 theaters, it made less than $400,000. Its total so far is a million bucks. That isn't even enough to pay Julia's annual hairstyling bill.
What happened? ...

On the last day of Renfest last year, I serenaded Xena's Guy with a moving medievalized rendition of "Crazy Lovesick Fool." But for sheer fun, "Hoodleehoo" gets my vote.

I didn't see "The Mexican" but my neighbors said it was a dud.
Just to remind everyone not to confuse "The Mexican" with "Mexico City." I found "Mexico City" to be an interesting crime film, revealing the corruption in Mexico.

Any chance this thread would be badger-approved? We've gone from Julia Roberts to Brak, in a seamless transition.

Look, I'm no fan of Julia Roberts (Brad Pitt has done some good stuff) but why is this a story? I agree. This is a non-story, and the only thing people are doing here is giving attention to Roberts which she doesn't deserve.

The wife and I played a tape of "I Love Ya' Baby" at our wedding. Yes, we're strange.

It's the economy, stupid.
When the economy is good, people will take a risk and go and see a picture without knowing anything else except who is in it. Not any more.
When times are tight, and people are cutting back on how often they go out, they don want to be sure they are seeing something good. In other words, they read the reviews before going to a movie.
Maybe Hollywood will get the message and realise that no matter how many stars a movie has, if you make a bad movie, nobody will come.

Renfest - I realize it's a renai..a renna..a middle-ages festival! But I can't help imagining a Ren & Stimpy festival....Stimpy! You fooool!
For sheer romantic value, nothing surpasses "Zingor"

Come on mama, bring it on home to Z"

"I Like Hubcaps" gets my vote every time...

Perhaps another anatomical landmark would be a more apt analogy?...... :)

Ah; thanks. Either one would be painful to watch.

Thanks for the review. I hate to spend money that goes to Julia Roberts, seeing I'm one of those horrible Republicans. It comes on free TV, I'll know it may be entertaining to watch.

Ahhh...
The "you like me, you really like me" incident was Sally Fields, when she won the Oscar for "Norma Rae."
Perhaps dumb enough to be attributed to Julia Roberts, but then "stupid" covers a lot of territory.

Hang in there. I'm in California and in the belly of the beast. Liberals just like to call non-liberal names. And they have gotten a pass for it. But not from Free Republic.

Ask FOX. That's FOX News, not the president of Mexico. (Only kidding.)

I wonder if this has anything to do with Julia Roberts saying Republicans are in the dictionary between reptiles and repugant?Democrats are in the dictionary between "demented" and "demonic".
To: sonserae
Thanks for the intelligent review. I'll be sure to miss it, and I'm glad you both enjoyed it! =^)
