I can't believe Stormin Normin is spouting this crap.

It's not crap, and the general is not merely spouting. When he speaks on this issue, he is speaking for most of the senior general officers who have advised against an unprovoked attack on Iraq, but who cannot speak publicly. While war is favored by suited men without military backgrounds, military men are strongly against it.

By the way, are we to believe that Dick Armey has also lost his mind because he is also expressing his principled opposition to attacking Iraq? When respected leaders disagree, it might be wise to carefully examine the issue -- and not merely assail the personalities.

I rather go after Saudi Arabia then Iraq( a secular country which produces few terrorist). Whats the opinion of military men on going after the Saudis. Wahabbi Islam needs to be utterly exterminated any one who will not change religions needs to be put to the sword. Whats the opinion of the officier corp on that.

Perhaps this is the reason the old saying "War is too important to leave up to the Generals" was first spouted. I would think that those closest to the action would be the ones least likely to go to war precisely because they see the death and destruction. While it will be ugly, I believe that major changes need to be made in the Mid-East before we can stop terrorism, I mean the overthrow of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, Iraq. All of these countries are little more than petty dictatorships that must be destroyed. Democracy and freedom must flourish in the mid-east before there can ever be peace. I think Iran will collapse sometime in the next few years, but we need to give the region a push by liberating Iraq and turning it into the first arab democracy. By the way, I agree that we should listen very carefully to people like Stormin' Norman and Dick Armey, the are both patriots in my mind.
