A letter discovered over the weekend at a makeshift memorial for Eric B. Taylor, the 31-year-old Massillon patrolman killed in a shootout Friday night, defends his killer and predicts that more police officers will die in traffic stops.

Nice to know that those who own the highway at 100mph cannot be stopped. As far as I know the constitution allowed the distribution of such custody over such jurisdictions. But why do papers make an issue of this 1 constitutionalists when they never make issue of welfare Democrat voting addicted gang bangers murdering hundreds of people every months??? I think that is the issue right here.

Well, in our county, in Ohio...we really do not have a lot of murders...we have not had a police officer killed for six or seven years...it just happened that this constitutionalist type guy was the one who killed a cop over a traffic stop...and his friends are defending his right to do it...so it is making the news.

This topic has to do with a self-described "Constitutionalist" who murdered a cop, who was really no consitutionalist at all, and his sympathizers who believed the cop deserved to get shot.

Unfotunately the letter is probably right. As police forces continue to become nothing but revenue generating entities we'll see more and more of this.

They need to spend more time stopping real crime and less time as a profit center.

That being said, I don't advocate shooting cops over speeding tickets.

I understand where you are coming from...because the "small town" that I live in is known for it's speed traps and DWI/DUI stops, which render the most arrests in Ohio, but the least amount of convictions.

Speeding is a violation of traffic law. Law enforcement officers enforce the law. It's their job, and it's dangerous. Running from the police during a routine traffic stop is a "real crime".
