A public relations war is waged as the two sides await a ruling on appeal.
A jury decided Bill Simon's company committed fraud in a botched pay phone deal and awarded its former partner $78 million, but the ruling hasn't stopped the parties from bad-mouthing one another.

For example, the Simon campaign provided a document in which Hindelang denied his drug-dealing conviction. Another document seems to contradict Hindelang's contention that he knew nothing of the Simon firm's intention to take the pay phone company public.
