An FBI analysis of the clothing found with Chandra Levy's remains has detected no traces of DNA, law enforcement sources said, all but eliminating the possibility that forensic evidence from the site in Rock Creek Park will help solve the case.

The DCPD should be named as accomplices in Chandra's murder. This is disgraceful.

No replies? Isn't anybody interested in Condit/Levy news any longer?
To: aristeides
Mornin'. Just finished reading the article in the Modesto Bee. Thanks for posting the article.

My money is on Henry, Cyril, and Baden.
Sooner or later, something is going to break in this story.

Agree with you!
I can see the chief breathing a big sigh of relief at this news. Now the coverup can continue.

No replies? Isn't anybody interested in Condit/Levy news any longer? That is just what Condit was counting on. The public has moved on now, just as always which is one reason these evil people can just continue to walk among us.

Can't take this to court, but the total lack of evidence is consistent with a professional hit.

I don't think the police department should be blamed for lack of DNA evidence. The police department may have made mistakes in this case, but if there isn't anything on the clothing is not their fault.

Bad news. I figured this would be the case though, because if any DNA had been found, we would know about it by now.

Aren't you assuming that nothing would have been found on the clothing even if the body had been found in a timely fashion?
To: Cate
The ineffective "photo-op" search is what they should be blamed for.
The search techniques used were not only ineffective but counter=productive, and also TOO LATE.
Failure to search the exact spot where she was found, even though a man had been arrested (and eventually convicted) for accosting women near what turned out to be her final resting place also deserves censure.
There were many failures that probably cost us irretrievable evidence, mainly related to slowness and inept and ineffective technique.
The police bear a large portion of the blame for the compromised crime scene.

Maybe the Levy's three forensic experts will turn up something in their examination of the remains.

I'm interested! I can't post from work but I read this today.
Thanks for the ping Fred!
So, if there is no "evidence" on the evidence, can anybody tell me why, (other than what has always looked like a cover-up for Condit), they refuse to release the items to the Levy's forensics team?
They say they've got nothing, so why not give somebody else a shot?
Like any of us actually expected them to find anything anyway after all this time AND considering what a fine job they've done on this from day one...
The Levy's need to file a civil suit against both Condit for obstruction and the DCPD for blatant stupidity. Ok, maybe that's not a legal term, but you get the idea. This has to be one of the worst handled investigations in history. Unless of course, the objective is to protect somebody, then I guess I'd have to say they've done a brilliant job.

From
MSNBC:
They have all but ruled out two men who were convicted of violent crimes against women in the park last year, one of whom assaulted a jogger just two weeks after Levy disappeared. Police, then, are left with two distinct possibilities: that another attacker was on the loose in the park around the same time or that Levy was killed by someone she knew.
To: The Great Satan
I think it was a contract hit by enemies of Gary Condit.
To: Fred Mertz
Thanks for the ping...fred.. I agree with you. This wasn't a random act of violence.
To: Valpal1; cyncooper; redlipstick; Jaded; John Jamieson; FresnoDA
""Suspects are not always haphazard and careless the way they dispose of or kill their victims," he said, explaining that the perpetrator may not have sexually assaulted Levy or left any blood or saliva on her clothing or body"
Further evidence that even killers can be careful about not leaving evidence behind...
