I have news for the Chairman of Albertsons about buying hamburger instead of steak -- at the price his grocery chain is charging for steak most people would buy hamburger instead of steak there on general purposes.
I buy my steak at other groceries here in town that don't charge $6.99, $7.99, and $8.99 a pound for steak like Albertson's. And the steak is just as good! Since I live in ranch/cattle country, I object to paying outlandish prices for steak from Albertsons and it has nothing to do with the economy.

Albertson's went out of business here in San Antonio, they just couldn't compete with HEB. HEB has taken over five of the stores recently, although I think they may be spreading themselves too thin, their shelves are not as well stocked as they used to be, but that could also be due to lack of competition.

If I'm going to pay 8.99 I may as well throw in 4 bucks more and buy it at the restraunt where they will cook, serve and clean up after me.
