President Bush spent the day at Baylor University, attending the Administration's Economic Forum. The forum, attended by many business leaders and educators, was divided into four sections:

1. Small Investor and Retirement Security
2. Corporate Responsibility
3. Healthcare Security
4. Economic Recovery and Job Creation

In addition to the President, Vice President Cheney, Rod Paige, and Tommy Thompson also attended. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Well second is strange also, because I haven't been spending much time looking at this thread for some time now.

You can see the sincerity and honesty in his eyes. Refreshing, still, even a year and a half after the inauguration.

Great news from the economic summit today:

From AP:

WASHINGTON (AP)--President George W. Bush blocked $5.1 billion that
Congress had approved for homeland security, including millions of dollars for
the nation's firefighters, and scolded lawmakers Tuesday for lumping in
unrelated projects he didn't want.

"A limited and focused government is essential to a growing economy and if the
Congress won't show spending restraint, I intend to enforce spending restraint,"
Bush said Tuesday, announcing his decision at an economic forum he
convened in Texas.

"A lot of that money has nothing to do with national emergency," Bush said
Tuesday. "I understand their position and today they're going to learn mine -
we'll spend none of it."

Ohhhhh, I LOVE this man.

Rain! We don't get much rain here in central California in the summer. I dread the thought of it raining again, and summer ending! I am the one person who enjoys the heat!

I commend him for standing up to spending unwisely in these trying times. I don't have the $$$ to waste on funding on studies of chronic wasting deer disease in Wisconsin.
