I would consider driving all the way from south bend, but my wife is due to have our first kid sept. 4th. If she is still pregnant, and I am 2 1/2 hours away I will have my *$%# in a stringer.

Go caesarian. Do it next week. If you have plans for a larger family, have'em install a zipper instead of stitches. Bring wife and baby to picnic.

He used the phrase "all th' fixin's provided" too. I seriously wonder if TheRightGuy is going to announce a merger with the Houston Area Texas Chapter during the picnic. ;-)
LOL. J/K. I'm there, dude.

I seriously wonder if TheRightGuy is going to announce a merger with the Houston Area Texas Chapter during the picnic. ;-) How'd you guess? I did live in the Houston Area from '72 thru '85 ... became a naturalized Texican.
Some "Wanted" posters down there may still feature my likeness.

By golly, the timing is perfect! I just pulled in from Florida some few hours ago after three days on the road. Just spotted your nice invitation!
I definitely will be at the party!
Thanks so much. I had a great time at your chapter meeting a couple months ago. Looking forward to seeing y'all again! Please do send me the driving instructions from Downers Grove.

I'll be sending our address, directions, etc. in the next week or so.

Texican comida como
chilli is all ping and missing the red meat. Now for Mexican comida the meat is all meat. Chile is the course before and the course after the meat.
Don't confuse Texican with Spanglish. For a person who speaks Texican, it is his first language. A Texican can complete a thought in Texican. A person who speaks Spanglish has no first language. Both English and Spanish are second languages. He mixes languages because he cannont complete a thought in either.

Morning bump.
If you guys have never been to a Chicagoland Freeper Picnic, you are in for a treat. Is Des Plains in reasonable driving distance? C'mon over and join us... ;-)

My company coordinated surface/air logistics for a major maquilladora manufacturing operation in the Rio Grande Valley during the early '80s. The language takes on a life of its own, example:
'STA 'UENO (pr. stah-WAY-no)
[perversion of "esta bueno" = "this is good"]
Used in context to mean:
"Hello"
"Goodbye"
"OK"
"Right on!"
or
"Way cool!"
