Dixie Chick Natalie Maines said, "Don't get me started,' when asked Monday about Keith's smash hit. "I hate it,' she said. "It's ignorant, and it makes country music sound ignorant. It targets an entire culture - and not just the bad people who did bad things. You've got to have some tact. Anybody can write, 'We'll put a boot in your ass.' But a lot of people agree with it. The kinds of songs I prefer on the subject are like Bruce Springsteen's new songs.
This says it all....she prefers songs on the subject like Bruce Springsteens. I only listen to country occassionally when my daughter is in my car....boy the dj's on the country station were going off on how hypocritical this Dixie chick is.

Guess whose CDs I won't be buying any time soon, Natalie...And to my mind, Nat, you're the only person in this article who sounds ignorant.

I don't follow country much (although I love bluegrass) the no-talent Dixie Twits need to shut the hell up.
Besides being new-aged, poppy-commercial, barf inducers, they couldn't keep up with most half-baked bluegrass musicians gigging at your local dive, and they know it.
Let's see how their doing in 5 years (or less) when they're not so cutesy anymore.

The Dixie Chicks are liberal swine and always have been. They join a long list of country musicians who are held hostage by the left - who now owns Nashville. I think I may buy more and more Toby Keith!
To: Katya
I have never been a country music fan, but, ever since I heard Keith's song, I am listening a little bit more and more each time to the country stations. We need more songs like his.

I HATE that word "jingoistic"......but, it seems to immediately identify the political leanings of the writer!!!

From the people who brought you that meaningful tune, "Goodbye, Earl."
Oy flipping Vey.

Dixie Chick Natalie Maines Bwahahaha!!!
I saw the Dixie Chicks on "Rock and Roll Jeopardy" and wanna talk about three women with a collective IQ of around 60! All the questions were music-related and still they knew nothing! They could have asked them the color of the sky and they probably would have guessed wrong. Jeez! Those chicks were so dumb that they made the celebrities on SNL's "Jeopardy" parody look like MENSA members.

Heck - you beat me by seconds.
To: Archie Bunker on steroids
If right-wing patriotism is selling for Nashville, there will be more right-wing patriotism recorded there. On Music Row, money comes before politics.

I'm a huge fan, but I can't stand to see the Dixie Chicks, Pam Tillis, Garth, Kenny & Dolly & several others carry the left's banner. Even worse is the AIDS awareness ribbons sported by the singers during awards ceremonies. These values are inconsistent with the fan base.

"I hate it,' she said. "It's ignorant . . ."
That seems rather intolerant for a whining lib. For such a big star, Dixie Hick Natalie has only 39 members at her web forum . . . Why, I suspect that if someone were to post the link here at FR her membership might grow unexpectedly.

Wonder if Imus will see this? Wasn't he talking up the Dixie Chicks a while ago? Wonder what he would make of this?

Woo hoo!
It's the steroids, man...
You've got to, like, purify your system, man. Fer shurrr...
Naw, we listened to that for the first time on the way to my parents for the 4th of July.
My wife got a Big Ol Kick out of that song. Said it gave her chills.
= )

boy the dj's on the country station were going off on how hypocritical this Dixie chick is. The Dixie Chicks should be seen and not heard.

I notice these libs don't have problems using sex to sell their music.

Hey, now! Earl needed killin'!

Not being much of a country listener, I did hear the song today at work, for the first time. Ya, guess I've been living under a rock. But I think I'll buy Mr. Keith's CD. I loved the song! As for the dingy Dixie whatever, she sounds like a bubblehead and is ditzsy. She can coddle to Bruce and the E Stree Band, remember, it was ol Bruce that chastised President Reagan for praising Born in the USA.......And as for Peter Jennings, just a network clone ignoring the truth on many fronts......that's it for now from this Conservative in a RAT infested county.....
