[FBIS (A US government agency) Report] Doha Qatar Television Service in Arabic, official television station of the State of Qatar, on 9 August 2002 at 0849 GMT carries a 58-minute live sermon from the Umar Bin-al-Khattab Mosque in Doha. Shaykh Anwar al-Badawi delivers the sermon... "The enemies have not left us any other choice. How could they try to prohibit martyrdom operations? Regrettably, some Muslim Arab politicians describe these martyrdom-seekers as terrorists." Our Islam, he says, is a religion of mercy and guidance and allows fighting only to repulse aggression. He says: "Islam does not know terrorism. Moreover, it fights all forms of terrorism, but it encourages martyrdom operations against aggressors." .... Concluding, the imam prays to God: "O God, destroy the usurper Jews and the vile Christians. O God, destroy the Jews. O God, pour Your anger on them. O God, destroy them. O God, support our Palestinian brothers, give them courage, and have mercy on them and their martyrs, children, and women."
I am merely remarking what I have observed in the era of the last generation, id est, that I have not witnessed nor heard of any Sunday screed calling for the destruction of the followers of a given religion, nor have I known of any recent genocidal cant save that of the Nazis (and their ilk) of the early 20th Century.
My view of the Imams' prayers is that we haven't seen such bile in recent history except from the mouths of primitives and the deluded. Does this square with your view of matters?
But... but... but...
These people keep telling us that they are not our enemies.
I can't even remember the US ever attacking any of the countries where these sermons were delivered... Wait. Are they muslim?
Yours reek of hell and Satanism.
The fact is that Yemen, Saudi Arabia and all Arab countries are Moslems. Moslems are at war with all non-moslems. Moslems want to kill non-Moslems, i.e., Christians, Jews, Buddists, etc. Therefore, we are at war with Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
Well put, I would change religion to cult though!
I did not accuse you of not having valid thoughts...nor would I accuse my 3 year old nephew of not having valid thoughts.
I said you are "incompetent"...and your admission to not studying the texts proves that out.
In matters of religion you are as a matter of fact "incompetent".
Obviously, you would agree.
Simple, if a Creator/God truly exists, then it follows that there must be true religion - the one that has the correct view about who the Creator is. The fact that you do not even allow for the possibility tells me that you are atheistic in your beliefs and have not given this any critical thought. Your mind is made up, so I won't try to confuse you with any more logic or facts.
Then your initial comments are to be thrown out as either erronious assertions or rediculous speculation.
I havent read the rest.
And if you are incompetent of matters of religion then by default you cannot interject a "thought" and expect it to be given equal consideration when discussing the ramblings of radical islamists.
You are by definition...
"Out of your league".
An arrogant statement. Especially considering that stuart admitted he/she was "incompetent" concerning the different religions.
Whether you choose to acknowledge what is readily apparent is your concern but it does not affect whether or not stuart is incompetent.
Oi....tedious...
I think you're seriously misunderstanding what I wrote. The point is that Satan tries to impersonate God all the time. Do you disagree with that?
You get the last word, so go to the thesaurus. I can't believe I replied to your disruptive pap once, and won't again.
They call what they worship "God" (in their own language). "Allah" means "God" or if you prefer "god". Are they really worshipping God? I would say not. But that's what the word "Allah" means, cognate with the Hebrew "Eli".
Islam is patterned on a sort of twisted Judaism with a bit of twisted Christianity thrown in. The business of there being only one God didn't come from some pagan moon-cult, even if Islam still has some elements of it.
