You apparently have a problem with English comprehension or either you resort to casting your yank without fully assessing the discussion. For YOUR convenience, I have restated this sentence so you would have to reread it.

"So if Dole is ONE OF ONLY TWO CHOICES, the other has my support and vote."

Application of a little common sense will make the meaning of that statement more clear, if you care to demonstrate any.

"Seven choices in the primary and AT LEAST four in the general (assuming no Independants file). Sounds like far more than two to me. You accuse the NC GOP of lying about opposition to Dole in the primary and then YOU blanantly lie about opposition to her in the GENERAL.

When have I lied concerning Dole's opponents or mentioned the GENERAL? Your failure to possess an ability accurately understand does not make me or anyone else a liar. Does this sound familiar? "...look at the prominient R. leaders endorsing [Dole] while disregarding the other, more honest Republican candidates. She BLATANTLY LIES of her involvement with N.C., won't debate nor associate with the other respectable N.C. candidates of the party and we're asked to vote for HER?"

Would reading that give you the impression that I'm saying only two candidates are running? Or had all that slipped your memory? Whether you think so or not, I AM supporting Jim Snyder and working as hard as my career allows to support the man.

BTW, of those two examples of criticism you gave, I totally agree with your view.

"Your actions and your beliefs make it clear you have no interest in promoting "conservative" candidates."

Can you explain how you conclude that, or is that another knee-jerk yank? I believe I was as clear as is possible in my reasoning that voting for one who knowingly lies of their involvement constitutes grounds for losing hope that any better should be expected should the candidate reach office. And this party, which boasts of conservative, moral honesty, cannot simply turn a blind eye to lying without requiring any accountability and continue that boast without serious compromise, IMHO. Neither can the serious issues facing our leaders be confidently borne by one who will not debate, but uses any excuse to avoid scrutiny altogether. North Carolinians are known to face problems squarely and deal with them appropriately.....

Good day.

If you are very vocally supporting a conservative Republican in the primary, then I must admit I owe you an apology.

You statement "if Dole is ONE OF ONLY TWO CHOICES, the other has my support and vote." implied you planned to vote for a Democrat over Dole in a "two-way" race. Since neither the primary NOR the general election is a two-way race, there would be NO reason to vote for a Democrat over Dole. Your statement is irrelevant. The Democrat would clearly be the LEAST conservative candidate out a whole field.

There are some phony "conservatives" on this board (a clear minority of N.C. freepers) that have made it CLEAR they plan to vote Dem in the general election reguardless of what happens. Many of them say they don't even bother with the primary election. They have made utterly disgusting remarks that Erskine Bowles is the "more conservative" candidate, when in fact we all know Bowles is a Clintonite liberal. If I mistaked you for one of those freepers, I apologize. There are also some die-hard yellow-dog Democrats in N.C. who obviously miss one-party rule by the local 'RAT machine, and they believe that being a native-born local Democrat magically makes you more conservative. I had one North Carolina "freeper" actually told me that the Democrats running the North Carolina state legislature was "more conservative than most Republiacns" in the state. Now, just about the rest of the N.C. freepers I've meet make it clear that Senator Marc Basnight and James B. Black are both socialist machine politicians who are only running the state because their goons have rigged the districts to elect Democrats for decades. Sure, they might conservative on ONE or TWO issues (to use an example from my state: the Speaker of the Illinois House is a 100% pro-life Catholic but liberal on EVERYTHING else) but it is clear that NO sane conservative Republican supports them.

This guy not only "supported" them, but wanted to give those state buerucrats MORE power (funny I thought conservatives believed in taking power AWAY from government) to appoint ALL the judgeships and federal officials from North Carolina. He actually told me that "If the legislature picked Elaine Marshall, she'd obviously be more conservative than anything the Republicans dredge up". Is that delusional or what?

One wonders if he gloated when Lauch Faircloth lost re-eleciton. After all, the legislature would have never let him get in office in the first place, they would kept the corrupt old Democrat coot that succeeded him.

When we have wackos like that running around FR, they are a clear danger to the conservative movement with their quests to let Democrat machines run their states for them. Again, if I mistakeningly took you for once of those types, I sincerely apologize.

But they DO exist. Check out some of the threads around here.
