[history]
CRAWFORD, Texas President Bush is filthy, his wrist is bleeding and sweat is dripping from his chin. But he is exuberant as he hauls freshly cut cedar to a burn pile.
"We're lifting weights!" he says, a thick log on each shoulder. Throwing them onto the pyramid, he cries: "Oh, baby!"
This is Bush Unplugged at the Texas ranch he loves. It is the president in his anti-Washington mode, in a world where he can roam canyons, jog across the open prairie, fish for bass and rescue his beloved oak trees from the suffocating cedar.

Some people enjoy doing physical work. It sounds like you have not enjoyed the envigoration of good hard labor with lots of sweating. Heck, there are people who would volunteer to clear the cedar for free. I would and so would Hillary. HEHEHE.

Screw cap or cork in your box of white wine. Do you buy yours at SAMS?

Do you think that Clinton if he did this photo op would know how to use an electric saw? Or do you think he would know the difference between the foreign cedar and the ones that the envirowhackos want to save?
Nope, the president is in his environment--not that many pics are posted and not that many pics are printed. So whom do yu think the photo op is for?

What a great set of photos and, for the W. compost - a great story! Thanks for the post!

BWAHAHA! fun-NY! What? Not a joke?
George loves hard work (a foreign notion, I know). He seems very happy to be sweating and scratched up. Contrast that with the photos of him (at the golf course) having to answer press questions. He's no poker player; his irritation at being hounded by presstitutes shows in his face.
Bet you won't admit your error.

Wow, another newbie! Don't you feel more comfortable on DU or the DNC website?

"'Most Americans don't sit in Martha's Vineyard, swilling white wine,' he says"
Another reason the dems hate it is because it swats at all their pretentious snobery which they think is so important. I love it. LOL

I don't know if someone else will reply but I have to anyway.
Kennebunkport means going to spend time with his parents, with family and friends and fishing and golf and tennis. It is not a resort to hobnob with other rich folks, it is about family.
Bush chose to buy property in hot dry dusty Texas where he clears brush in his spare time. That is a far different pastime from swilling wine in a resort location with other rich nabobs.
Bush is not mooching off rich folks, is not spending time at a resort, is not rubbing noses with Hollywood folks and criminals, and whoever else hangs out at Martha's Vineyard. No Kennedys hanging around in Texas.
A superficial look, maybe your post had a point, but if you really look at it closely it doesn't.

Nice personal attack with the DNC label...Who's Clintonian here? I see you didn't deny your DU connections.

You really are a Rat, aren't you? A couple more posts and you won't be able to hide it..it always comes out, you know.
Your contempt for the President is similar to what we have seen from those who actively work for his defeat. It isn't particularly clever, usually mocks those of us who support him, and is flat-out rude.
I suggest you go to a place more to your liking. Your silly attacks are not working with us.
To: HoustonCurmudgeon
Three differences I can see. 1)The family OWNS a home at Kennebunkport and the elder Bush spends half the year there. 2)GWB spends more time in Texas than in Kennebunkport. 3)He doesn't drink white wine.
There should be 4. 4)Does not invite himself to leach off somebody else vacation home.
To: olliemb
Costco, actually. "Franzia - the wine in a box!"

"photo opp."...Just like President Reagan at his ranch, eh?
You people have a very hard time understanding that
work is not a foreign word to those on the Right.
You're so used to the charlatans in the democrat party that you just assume everything is a put-on...like Hil & Bill's continuous facade of marital bliss.
