The original article was about Israel sending aid to the Congo.

In this particular case of influence peddling the issue is the diamond trade, of which many of the participants are Jewish.

Some are some aren't.

But what of the false innuendos made against Lev Leviev who turns out to be a brilliant man and a philanthropist?

By the way many Christians support the Democratic Party as well.

More and more Jews are turning right and joining the GOP. Karl Rove is courting the Jewish vote.

I see this as a plus for the GOP, and I hope Bush basher McKinney goes down. HARD. :)

Can't agree with you here -- McKinney is a hardcore Islamist sympathizer, supporter, and advocate. Quite frankly, it scares me to death to think that in her position in the US House of Representative that she might have access to classified information with regard to the US war on Islamic terror and homeland defense. She is an enemy of America and of Israel -- and in my book that makes her low-life scum.

BTTT. :) Can you believe that some here support her? Beyond weird. She's a Commie.

The donor list of fat cats who contribute to the DNC is long. Why do you think LarryLied only focuses on the Jewish ones? Any ideas?

You have it backwards, scratch. As Willie Sutton pointed out, you focus on where the money is. Check out the MoJo Top Fifty Donors to political parties in 2000.

You are the one dwelling on religion, not me. I could care less. Unless you and others made a point of it, I would not even know what religion these people are.

Don't see you all concerned about Charlie Rangel taking over Ways and Means, John Conyers taking over Justice or Waxman taking over for Burton.

Those are the three committees with the most power. But you dwell on what power McKinney might have (when we all know the Democrat party won't give her anything).

It is all about McKinney going after the money from Africa which flows to the Democrat Party, isn't it? She is rattling cages in the liberal establishment. Blacks aren't supposed to do this. The deal is Blacks in congress get paid off and keeps their mouths shut about Africa, right?

Don't insult my intelligence please. Interesting that you defended Martha Stewart on another thread. A Polish Christian now involved in serious hanky-panky.

He (Tempelsman) dated Jackie and gave a grand to Pat Kennedy’s campaign three years ago. That’s a “Kennedy” connection?

Yup:

KENNEDYS' "CITIZENS ENERGY CORPORATION" IS FUELED BY RED OIL

Aided by Maurice Tempelsman, to whom Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis served as mistress during the final years of her life, and who himself has grown wealthy on diamond concessions in Angola and elsewhere in southern Africa, the Kennedy family, operating through "next generation" representatives Joseph Kennedy and Michael Kennedy, was granted its own oil concession from the Marxist-Leninist government of Angola to something called the Citizens Energy Corporation.

ANGOLAN OIL IS A MAJOR SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THE KENNEDYS

As reported in the American Spectator (December, 1997, p. 43), "Citizens Energy is a key player in an unfolding foreign policy debacle in which the Clinton administration has sold out long-term friends of the United States to unlikely coalitions of old Marxists and corporate hustlers. But the Kennedys' operation is so carefully shielded behind good works that its dimensions might not have come to view at all if not for a family split partly stemming from the still-unsolved murder, twenty-two years ago, of a teenage girl in a fashionable New York suburb...."

A FINANCIAL CONSPIRACY WITH NATIONAL SECURITY IMPLICATIONS

"Its for-profit subsidiaries include Citizens Gas Supply Corp., Citizens Power and Light Corp., Citizens Energy International, and Citizens Lehman Power LP, a partnership with the well-known Lehman Brothers investment-banking firm. The directory is actually out of date, since many of these dependencies have recently been spun off or sold in multi-million dollar deals, with six-figure bonuses for Citizens Energy executives...."

ROGER TAMRAZ IS A KENNEDY BENEFACTOR

"Citizens Energy very soon crossed the path of Roger Tamraz, the international financier who recently stunned the Thompson Committee hearings when he bluntly admitted making large campaign donations to buy access....

"Earlier this year, Tamraz emerged as not only a major fundraiser for [Congressman Joseph Patrick Kennedy III]'s uncle, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, but as a client of Teddy's wife. For the 1994 Senate campaign, Teddy's stiffest challenge in years, Tamraz personally contributed $5,000 and raised another $25,000. He also approached Victoria Reggie Kennedy, a lawyer who married Teddy in 1992, for legal help in claiming assets seized by a foreign government...."

THE LATE MICHAEL KENNEDY WAS PAID $622,000 PER YEAR FOR HIS GOOD WORKS

"[A]fter 1986...he made his long-expected move into politics to take over former House Speaker Tip O'Neill's congressional seat. Joe turned over the chairmanship of the non-profit business to his younger brother Michael LeMoyne Kennedy....According to a Boston Globe analysis...Michael Kennedy's paycheck...hit $622,000....By the 1995 report...net assets showed a striking growth to more than $26 million.

I certainly don't see this as an important Republican issue, but merely an interesting sideshow that may encourage disunity among the democrats. If McKinney loses her re-election campaign, she's likely to blame it on Jewish financial support for her challenger. The Black Congressional Caucus has already expressed concern that the party isn't doing enough to support an incumbant. Why not let the democrats fight among themselves? For one thing McKinney, IMO an anti-American legislator, is building seniority on some very important committees. And this is an opportunity to defeat her through crossover voting in the primary.

Personally, though I see it posted about all the time, I don’t really see much evidence of democrat infighting in this race, nor of much Jewish financial support, though it may develop. It’s a straw man.

You may be assuming this is the same as the Hilliand/Davis race. Davis outraised Hilliard by about $1.3 million to about $850m. If you look at his contributors. A quick look at Davis donors reveals lots of Jewish sounding names from outside of Alabama, especially NY.

Cynthia is outraising Majette by about $511m to $376m so far, and Majettes donor list is largely from her district. I’d like to see out of state donations going to her, but I haven’t yet.

The big risk to Cynthia are Republican primary votors crossing over, which appears to be happening. There are those (not you) who want to discourage that. I’d like to see it happen, Cynthia is a dangerous person to be advancing into positions of increased power.

Agree on that. Why some who claim to be in the GOP want to support this crazy dame is beyond me. Maybe it's that she is pro Arab and anti Israel?

Don't think it is a good thing McKinney is going after Tempelsman?

I do:

Political Money Line:

COMMITTEE FOR CONGRESSMAN RONALD V. DELLUMS
TEMPELSMAN, MAURICE
10/6/92 $20,000.00
NEW YORK, NY 10017
LEON TEMPELSMAN/SON

"I am going to totally dismantle every intelligence agency in this country piece by piece, nail by nail, brick by brick..."- Ron Dellums (D-CA) Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, 1993

I care about America. McKinney is bad for America. I support President Bush. McKinney has insulted President Bush beyond words. She has links to terrorists.

You and I have different agendas. You care about "getting" Templesman apparently, more than you care about what is best for America, defending the President and elimnating terrorism. So be it but you have a screwy agenda in my opinion, one not appropriate for this particular forum.

That’s really, really funny. If you think your Templesman Kennedy connection jihad is garnering Republican votes and causing stress in the Democratic party, great it’s far from your first bizarre thought.

As I’ve told you before, if they’re criminals, I hope they go to jail.

But I think your purpose is to discourage Republican crossovers so McKinney wins and advances in the house.

Those who doubt, check out the headlines of Larry’s source link.

Eight articles, six bash Republicans, but LL quotes the on that supports his theory. Maybe I’m stupid, but I think Cynthia will be emphasizing the other six scandals on the Human Rights SubCommittee.

Nice campaign donor link too. Looks to me like if Maurice ups his contributions about 1,000%, he’d have a shot at the Dem’s top 50. From a political perspective, this is a lot of background noise.

LOL.

The way they get that power is by winning elections in secure districts. I don't see any of them vulnerable in primaries, if they are I'd encourage crossover voting there. You should be writing about that.

Cynthia won't be vulnerable every year, and this is an opportunity. Where we differ is that you want to discourage Republican crossovers so anti-American, anti-Israel (your thing) McKinney can one day join the ranks of Conyers, Rangel, and Waxman.

No, conservativeusa in reply 69. This is largely a Dem issue, even a conservative site discussing the issue bashes Republicans 3 to 1. Cynthia will love it.

All you care about are McKinney's meaningless votes on Israel.

Every Democrat who is Jewish is defended by you and your friends. From Abe Foxman to Gary Winnick to Maurice Tempelsman to Rahm Emmanuel, anyone who goes after a Jewish Democrat is maligned.

Cynthia won't be vulnerable every year, and this is an opportunity

So where is the HUGE Jewish shift to the Republican party?

McKinney only won 60% to 40% in 2000. Why aren't all those former Jewish Democrats out there supporting her GOP challenger? Probably not many Jewish votes in the area but money could flow down to Georgia to unseat her. I hear everyday what a radical shift is occurring in the Jewish vote.

McKinney has made some very stupid, un-American comments. This is the year for Republicans and their new Jewish friends to take her seat.

If the GOP can't win the seat, at least the party tried. And McKinney can be demonized forever because of what she has said. Abe Foxman could destroy any power she might have if re-elected.

But no...all we hear from you is how Republicans should vote for a Democrat who will keep that seat in the Democrat column forever.
