I think it comes down to this: There are instances where it would be healthier for an overweight person to follow the lo-carb diet and lose weight than to follow diets that have never worked for them and stay obese.

However, if one runs 4/5/6 miles a day, a low-carb diet is good for achieving hallucinations during the run, without having to ingest the evil carbs in mushroom caps.
