I plan on continuing on as we are. There are no salaried employees at FR, but I do not make a secret of the fact that we take a draw. It's posted everytime our budget is mentioned on any of the fundraiser threads. Our current year budget includes nearly $9000 per month for bandwidth, programming and systems support (paid to John's company), $7000 per month for management and administration (me and Amy) and $3000 per month for legal fees. Plus we have office expenses, travel & lodging, maintenance & repairs, and other non-recurring costs. We estimate the total costs for 2002 to be in the range of $20,000 to $22,000 per month. And so far, the donation model seems to be working fine. If we were to commercialize the site, then we'd have additional copyright problems and I would just as soon not go there.
Thanks,
Jim

Well Jim, a couple of times a year you should do the managing and ministrating from the beaches of Waikiki courtesy of FreeRepublicans.

Thanks for the response Jim. My post was not meant to put you on the spot, it truly wasn't my intention, as one poster seemed to suggest. And I figured you wouldn't mind weighing in on this, given the fact that you have some interest here.
What ever you do, I will try to support the site when I can, and I am sure most others will do the same.
Thanks again, for the best political and current event site on the entire world wide web....
Your friend, Joe Hadenuf..

Great, and I say increase the fundraising goals and give yourself a big fat raise. I don't claim to speak for everybody, but I believe most of us make our monthly contributions with the assumption and hope that you and your family are adequately provided for. I, for one, would be very upset to learn otherwise.
