My youngest son was born at home. Instead of cutting the umbilical cord right away, my midwife waited until the placenta came out. He was still a person, but still completely attached to me.

It might surprise you how many educated people do not realize that your son built that umbilicus and the placenta to which it was attached. In fact, that placenta (and the amniotic sac extended from the first stem cells that did the building) was the first organ your son built for his own survival, and he cast it off upon exiting into the air world! But the exiting thing is, the stem cells he put in that placenta and the cord blood therein are rich sources of stem cells that can and do already cure diseases! Pretty nifty work for an 'amorphous non-person', to make stem cells that cure diseases in persons, don't you think?
