I know that sounds tinfoilish but think about it. Think about how computers will progress if we survive another 500 years.

Think about how computers will progress if we survive another 500 years. It won't take 500 yrs. If Moore's Law holds up- it'll be more like 50 and 75 is the ultra conservative estimate for humans being left behind (or going with) by computers. So you're looking at before the end of the century- you might even live to see it.
