Think about how computers will progress if we survive another 500 years.

It won't take 500 yrs. If Moore's Law holds up- it'll be more like 50 and 75 is the ultra conservative estimate for humans being left behind (or going with) by computers. So you're looking at before the end of the century- you might even live to see it.

Given that computers are improving their performance at a high rate compared with humans, they are likely to find humans interesting for only a few years. After that, they will likely consider them either boring or an irritation.
