Vanity....Help with getting all topics to list
Posted on 08/02/2002 11:28:37 PM PDT by Partisan Hack
Sorry to bother the group with this but whenever I sign onto FR, I Choose "latest Articles." Unfortunately, not all articles/topics post with this selection. I can't seem to find a selection that will change this.
Thank you for the help.

Which forum are you interested in.
I think you see the articles only in a given Forum!

I want to see them all! I want them to list in the time sequence that they were posted.

The "my forums" slections are very confusing as to their purpose and function.

It seems that I can only see one forum at a time. I went through the threadfs that you referred me to (Thank you) with no luck. This post is on the "News Activism" Forum. It does not seem that I can intersperse General interest and news/activism threads...... That's really annoying.
I hope I'm wrong!

I think you're right. John, perhaps in the near future you can have a "forum" called "FRee for All" that when clicked could show all the threads from all the forums. You know, the way it used to be, before the "forums." What do you think?
Also, will the "Post" page go back to showing how a full article will be (preview)? Right now it only shows the text without the title. Thanks.

Oh...John, also, now that the topics are "segregated" ; ) into forums, are you (behind the scenes) able to see how the traffic is - ex: News/Activism vs. General Interest? And, if so, is there a big difference?
IMO, I would think some some people would stay on one forum, and thereby, possibly miss out on interesting threads on other forums.
Sometimes it's good the threads are related, but, again, I think there should also be the option to see all the threads without having to click on each forum. Thanks, again. : )

Added to Testing topic.
Testing Topic is for Forum operation related threads.

I'm so glad you asked this question, because I've had a heck of a time figuring out what I can and can't see too.
Furthermore, I posted an article a few days ago, and when I went back to look at it, it said that it had been moved to 'Chat', AND all the topics I had chosen had been changed. What the heck is 'Chat'?
When I post a new article, there's a field for 'Topics'. When I click the button to select from the available topics, there's no option for Chat or any of the topics that my article was put under.
The posting guidelines on the Help page doesn't go into all this. They need to have a help page that explains how the forum works and what goes where, and how to choose what I can see. It's really confusing, and I have the feeling that I'm missing a lot of stuff.
