What might that hot button topic be?

Geez, pick one! It could be

Homeschooling/Public Schools/NEA

Abortion

Welfare

Taxes

Gun Control

Global Warming/Kyoto Treaty

NAFTA

And so many more that I can't even keep track of the hot button d'jour.

Let her disagree on one of these issues and watch the wolves come out to eat her and then denounce her.

Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about--this is par for the course here. FreeRepublic is not known for its tolerance for different views.

And before you check my name and post "Member since 2002, this is just one of my many other names. I keep having to get new ones when I post an unpopular opinion and then spend too much time deleting both nasty emails and nasty replys here. I deleted my last name because I DARED to question a sacred cow and actually had two people call my house

In fact! I just might be on a hot button issue right now and on my way to another new name.

We destroy our own on the conservative side; we don't need liberals to do a thing.

This is a little absurd.

I believe the question "what might that hot button topic be?" lends more to the incredulity of Ann flip-flopping. No one would argue just what the hot-button issues are, that's silly. Equally silly is the notion that Ann would ever in a million years suddenly call for Shumer-style gun control and free federally sponsored abortions for everyone.

You admit to making a habit of trolling for arguments. If you are attacked, I say that it's not in an eat-our-own scenario -- more likely, you're seen one of those infiltrators. You know the kind that just want to argue for arguments' sake? The kind that set up shop here and bang a pot with a spoon long and loudly enough that someone finally yells SHUT UP? You know, like two-year-olds do. They make you crazy that way, because they're very immature.

I thought you were saying that she has already taken a liberal stand.

If you are pro-NEA, Pro-abortion,pro-welfare, pro-taxes, pro-Kyoto and pro-gun control, how exactly does that mean you're conservative? The only position that even might be debatable is abortion. THe rest, are well, not conservative at all. They are liberal. If you are pro-all these things, I hope to God you are "eaten", but it won't be by "your own", cuz we ain't "your own".

Sad but too often true. I've seen Ann Coulter - a fantastic voice for conservatives and doing great work in the battlefields of the liberal media - attacked on FR for not being 'a good enough debater', 'wearing sleazy outfits' (this immediately disqualifies her from ever representing conservatives again in some people's tiny minds) and of course, being too thin, as if this made any real difference.

I believe that after reading Ann Coulter's book, 'Slander' as well as hearing and watching her debate and discuss politics and the lies of the left, you have to admire the woman for her brains if not her beauty. Those who persist in nit-picking and fault finding Coulter are either lifetime sour-pusses who don't have a good word for anything or anyone or just liberal infiltrators and disrupters, masquarading as conservatives on FR.

Ann is a big Second Amendment fan, hates abortion, taxes and generally supports all the common conservative positions. I doubt you'll see her adopt any weird, leftist political position anytime soon (the next 50 years). She may disagree with some minor point here and there and get flack for that (probably from the Libertarian gang on FR) but Ann Coulter is a conservative and has proven many it times over.

Many of those who nitpick her cannot come within a hundred miles of accomplishing what Ann has for conservatives and that may sometimes be the negative emotion behind some of the inevitible Ann-bashing you see. If so, those are a fringe contingent and not to be considered in comparison to Ann's accomplishments. If Coulter did nothing else but write 'Slander' she would have earned her place as a foremost conservative of the early 21st century. Her expose of the left's lies and tactics is invaluable and will help continue the crack in the left's grip of the media (especially TV) and public opinion.

Ann Coulter is #1 - just like her book.
