Elementary school principal charged in drug case
08/02/2002
Associated Press
Twin Falls -- An elementary school principal in Twin Falls is facing felony drug charges stemming from a marijuana investigation.
Forty-eight year-old Mary Lee Roberts was arraigned Thursday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was released and faces a preliminary hearing August ninth.
The case started at a Houston post office. Authorities there intercepted a package addressed to Roberts. The package turned out to contain about a pound of marijuana.
Court documents say Roberts later admitted to investigators that she had bought the pot in Houston, placed it in a package and tried to mail it to herself.
Twin Falls school officials say Roberts resigned from her $56,000 job as principal of Bickel Elementary School late Wednesday.

At least she did the right thing by resigning immediately. Another life ruined by breaking laws, perhaps.

She did it to herself. She knew it was illegal, she made the choice to commit an illegal act.
Don't blame the 65 MPH sign when you get a ticket for going 100.
