"There's just no reasoning with some people." Yes, there is, and I'm trying to reason with you. You said you don't know his positions on lifelong nannyism. There's a simple cure for that: look. It's not difficult.
[Note: also, it's not really "cradle-to-grave" -- it's "prenatal-to-grave".]

Alexander understands where he needs to go now and what he got away with then he won't get away with now. Let's not be spoiled sports about this and all us pro-Bryant folks need to remember our ABC's -- Alexander beats Clement (and if Alexander doesn't, Gore and Daschle win.
I feel your pain, I really do.
But Lamar is such a slimy RINO dirtball and has been for such a long time. Unfortunately in such a race a conservative really has to go with "none of the above".

I voted for Bryant and would have prefered he won, but since that didn't happen I will vote for Alexander in November

Then your vote assures the continued dominance of a Democrat ClintonKennedyDaschle Senate. Alexander will be at least an 80% ACU vote in the Senate, unlike Clement who will be at a Jim Jeffordsish 20%. Now if that's what you want...

If I don't vote for Alexander I am supporting a Democratic Senate
Life isn't alsways easy or pleasant. But the RINOs have been using conservatives for just too long. I have been burned long enough that I am mad as h___ and just refuse to take it any more. A Republican Senate, when we had one, proved to be a RINO Senate. Alexander would just help to perpetuate that trend. Sorry, no sale.
What was the last government program, bureau, agency, or closet the Republicans closed? Don't worry, I won't hold my breath waiting for you to research the history of the Reagan Administration to ansewr me. :-(

Republicans are in a place with conservatives that the D's are with Blacks; that is taken for granted for too long and they have a huge wake up call coming.

I went on record on this site months ago supporting Bryant, but he lost. Alexander won a free and fair election. Nothing I or you can say will change that. Alexander won because he got more votes than Bryant. That is how the process works. If you think you can do better run for office yourself (I honestly expect to do so one day).
