McCain give Daschle a pass on eviro exemption
Imus in the Morning | 08/01/02 | TC Rider

McCainiac was a guest on Imus this morning at about 7:30 EDT.

Imus was doing his usual sucking up, but did get around to asking one of Bernard's questions (which are usually the best ones).

Paraphrasing a bit...

Imus: Senator, you've heard about Majority Leader Daschle slipping that ammendment into the Defense Spending bill to exempt SD from enviromental lawsuits, so they can clean up the forests to prevent fires. What's your thoughts on that.

McCainiac: Hmmm, haawwww, well Iman, you know a lot of that goes on and that there's really not that much wrong with it. He did clear it with the enviromental groups.

McCainiac sputtered on a bit, basically giving little Tommy a pass on this.

But, this was the first I had heard that Little Tommy had vetted this with the 'enviromental groups'. What scum!

It kills me that the enviros gave him a pass on this. If a Republican senator had done the same the groups would have crucified him.

McCain would never say a bad word about someone he considers his leader in the senate.

Problem is that Arizona has terrible fires this year and McCain has done nothing to help alleviate the problems in his own state.......too busy sucking up to the President's enemies to care about his constituents burning up.

What's happened with the recall effort there?

Is McCain up for reelection this year?

Johnny McInsane would rather let Arizona burn than give the enviro wackos offense. Its amazing Tommy Daschund shows more spine towards the Greens than the Senator from AZ. So much for McInsane's legendary pugnaciousness.

If a Republican senator had done the same

I believe Rep. John Thune(R) had introduced the same thing a couple months back and it was killed by the dims with pressure from the environazis.

Exactly right.

You are right. Daschle did it to help his loser buddy, Tim Johnson, who is in the fight of his life with Thune for the senate seat that could depose Daschole.

Recall has failed. The sheeple don't seem to care that he is a turncoat. We're hoping he will not run again after his term is up in 2004. He recently mentioned that he is thinking about retiring.

And the environazis continue to run ads against Thune for supporting logging to prevent forest fires.

Anybody countering those adds with Daschle's blatant hypocisy?

Don't know, I'm here in Joisey!! Did hear on the radio that the ads were running against Thune for the very exemption that Daschle engineered.

Perhaps the sheeple in that state will wake up. Supposedly Daschle got permission from the enviros to push for the right to log.
