FYI Update. http://www.wtc2002.com/start.lasso
Email my husband and I received today concerning the World Trade Center 2002.
I know there are those who do not like this design however for discussion purposes I humbly post this.
Greetings My Friend,
Please refer to the following text being a copy of my correspondence to both Mr. John Whitehead (Chairman - New York Port Authority) and Mr. Alexander Garvin (Co-President - Lower Manhattan Development Corporation).
These results will please you, I am sure, as they do I. RE: Update Number Ten, New Design Concept WTC2002.
The contents of this update (Number Ten) contain two very important issues going forward, they are: -
1) The statistical results of Visitors to our primary website www.wtc2002.com from Friday 19th July to Thursday 25th July.
2) The remarkable results from our secondary web page on www.wtc2002.com being a voting poll of all seven WTC designs for the World to vote upon.
Our daily results of actual Visitors to our web site www.wtc2002.com are as follows:
Friday 19th July at 8pm 678,490 visitors with an 83% YES vote
Saturday 20th July at 8pm 683,533 visitors with an 83% YES vote
Sunday 21st July at 8pm 690,369 visitors with an 83% YES vote
Monday 22nd July at 8pm 697,429 visitors with an 83% YES vote
Tuesday 23rd July at 8pm 703,407 visitors with an 83% YES vote
Wednesday 24th July at 8pm 709,110 visitors with an 83% YES vote
Thursday 25th July at 8pm 713,563 visitors with an 83% YES vote
You will note that the numbers have subsided somewhat and this is singularly due to the fact that our design was not part of the LMDC six designs released to which our supporters reacted in both amazement and frustration.
This prompted an immediate decision on our part to initiate a new voting panel on our website whereby your six designs and our design could be directly compared, thus creating a level playing field or as the world wanted, comparing WTC2002 with your designs and casting their vote over the seven designs.
Accordingly, at one minute past midnight, 07/27/2002, we released the composite 7 designs on our website ww.wtc2002.com to which a staggering response has been manifested.
Actual emails received and printed by our staff as at 8pm Monday 29th almost exceed 5000 with a 97% YES vote in favor of WTC2002. (A microcosm result indicative however of a global opinion to be forthcoming) That break down is as follows: -
Citizen Of The World YES vote 17% 850 Emails Received
Citizen Of The USA YES vote 45% 2250 Emails Received
Resident Of New York YES vote 35% 1750 Emails Received
WTC2002 NO vote 3% 145 Emails Received
TOTAL 100% 4995 Emails Received
I have included an example email of each of the above four-noted response questionnaires as received by respective voters.
Mr Whitehead, Mr Garvin, I now propose to take these polling results and broaden the exposure of our website via National USA Television and specific Talk Show hosts to formalize the Seventh Design as the design of choice by New Yorkers, Americans and Citizens of The World.
It is interesting to note that our polling results are the reverse to that of what the LMDC experienced on July 20th at The Jacob Javitts Center whereby all 6 designs were royally rejected and such rejection confirmed by the media in subsequent days.
My architects, APEC Consultants Inc from Florida are making arrangements to open a Manhattan office once New York Architectural compliance issues are dealt with.
I propose to build our WTC2002 design on "Ground Hero", the former site of The World Trade Center thus creating a holistic, commercial, social, economic and spiritual center that the world will gravitate to on-masse.
I await your confirmation to this position.
I remain yours sincerely,
Derek G.Turner

If we're a dying nation, then we would build something small. Let's make sure that won't happen!
Bump!
Heh, that's the kind of attitude America needs. :-)
It's a cool design. Not a chance in a million years though.
But people should check it out, though.
No, it's a cool website and a cool presentation, that's all. The building it presents, though, is just too chunky.
Say you've got a model railroad set with a nifty little village. Now say some kid decides his jack-in-the-box would work real well as the focal point of the village. That's about how well this building would work in Lower Manhattan, in terms of scale.
Ok, do you rather something small and boring? Just like it would look in Albany?
The last that I checked was that the public did not like the 6 plans presented.
We want something magnificent, something that we can do with our 21st century. After all, this is America. Let's build something grand, American-style!
I have nothing against the height. It's the width. And the clumsiness. And the lack of grace or beauty or airiness.
I keep coming back to the scale. Beats me how a building can be so tall and yet look so squat overall.
The guy can build this thing somewhere else. It just doesn't say "New York".
