No significant fire behavior due to moderating weather. Interior unburned areas are still active. Line construction remaining to be completed is in the most rugged and isolated portions of the fire. Type 1 crews have been working to complete this line. Extremely heavy fuel loadings, long hikes and difficult terrain will make for slow difficult progress. (1800, 7/28) |

The fire made major runs to the south, west, and north. Extreme burning conditions and fire behavior, steep slopes, inaccessible terrain with too few anchor points and safety zones, and lack of resources are hampering suppression efforts. (1800, 7/28) |
