Speculation is that maybe they were not in as much water as it appears when they come out soaking wet. Said that the nature of the drilling may have used water as part of the process.

But if they were in water the entire time, can you imagine the granny feet they must have?

These last ones are probable the tougher ones. (hard to think of any of them not being tough though). I imagine they were the ones that kelp the moral high down there.
