Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.
They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

OMG, Fox has a taped Donald Trump interview on right now. What are those producers thinking????? I'm forced to watch PMSNBC this critical time.

Those men are still with us, or they are with God Almighty.
I pray for their families as well. This is so heart-breaking, It's enough to make this grown-man cry...a little bit.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, Fatima. Some of those Beatitudes are written about you, kiddo.
To: marajade
Actually I it was MSNBC here on the west coast. Not FOX. My error.

No ones likes jokes and puns more than I do, but there is a line you draw, when you are talking about people's lives in the balance. I hope these miners will come of out this okay. I can't imagine what these families are going through, but I am sure that they are not thinking about the likes of Al Gore.

>>...These are the men who crawl deep into the earth and mine coal so I can sit here with my air conditioning, computer, lamp and big tv, just killing time. My dad was a miner, and he's told me all I've ever needed to hear....<<
My father was a miner in PA for a few years until WW2 when he enlisted in the Army. His father mined all his life until he died of black lung disease at the age of 45.
My father once took me to visit a friend of his who mined all his life. I remember the drapes were all closed in the day and there were no lights on in the house.

That's okay, I'm sticking with (yuk) CNN because FNC just can't seem to get its act together...

"So in 2002 we still have crews working beneath the earth because it is easier to risk lives than the landscape." So true.
Adding to that is the fact that the enviros have determined that it's more important to maintain the habitat for the elk and antelope in ANWR than to get our troops out of the ME/Saudi Arabia and out of harms way and produce our own damn oil. Animals and landscape are more important than people.
Sick jerks.

****I have been going back and forth from the TV to FR****
Did you know .... Samsung has a flat screen monitor with a TV reciever in it. Picture in picture. The ultimate in couch potato/keyboard commmander heaven.
Occasionally I keep the radio on too. However splitting my little brain in three is proving stressful.

Hi Leni.
I can't think that this delay between hearing that they have broken through and hearing the fate of those trapped bodes well.
God bless those men and their families, and I hope my pessimism right now is wrong. :-(

An interesting little factlet I found on the AP wire:
The rescue attempt has transfixed the region, a hilly, rural area long dependent on coal and one that suffered tragedy during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The 40 passengers and crew on Flight 93 died when it was taken over by hijackers and crashed near Shanksville, about 10 miles from the mine.
