Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.
They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

That's too bad because he seems like he's completely genuine and that it extremely rare in politics today... With 9/11 and now this he sure has had some experience at governing... Maybe he'll decide to run in four years from now if a Dem wins? Or it would be great to see Specter decide to retire... It seems he really cares about the people of his state...

To be honest, I don't know exactly why he choose not to run for Governor (he ascended to the office when Tom Ridge left to color code our Homeland Security). I vaguely recall something about his family commitments (I think his children are young in age)...but I really don't clearly recall.
I have been going back and forth from the TV to FR...earlier tonight Gov. Schweiker was being interviewed by Geraldo...the Gov. was explaining the best case rescue scenario and Gerry interrupted him with something (to the affect) "yeah, I'll buy that" and Schweiker just stopped and looked at him as if to say 'you a$$hole.'

Low-budget Fox is probably getting its news from CNN!
