Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.
They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

Caplamps typically work up to 16 continuos hours. Safety training emphasizes extending resources, so I'd believe only one lamp was on at any time. There's a fair chance some light was available.
As a former underground coal miner, I'm really touched by the sentiments expressed during this rescue. Thanks to all.

Jeff Flock of CNN is absoutely the best at getting out this news. I have been impressed with CNN's coverage most of the evening. As soon as something breaks, they are back on with the live coverage and he is doing a great job of explaining how everything is going to happen.
