Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.

They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

They were talking about that earlier this evening. They were interviewing the owner of the drill they are using. He said that the sound and pressure coming from the air pipe would be unbearable. The men would have moved away, and would not be near it to tap. They are now saying that enough water has been pumped out to make it below sea level. Maybe now they can get back to the pipe and tap.

I hope somebody remembered to duct-tape a flashlight to the phone they're going to lower down into the hole. Its pitch dark down there, the miner's lamps are surely exhausted by now, and its nighttime in PA. Unless the phone smacks one of them on the head at the bottom, how will they know its there?
