San Francisco's judges have become the first in the state to cut ties with the Boy Scouts because of the organization's refusal to admit gays and lesbians. A lawyer who sought the change said Thursday she hoped to take it statewide.

And people in the SF area expect these judges, who apparently can't reason beyond their appendages, to rightly judge the law and the case? Ha.

This may backfire, as I know quite a few gay people I consider friends - never had a problem before this. Now I'm beginning to wonder. If push comes to shove, I'll take the Boy Scouts.

I have a couple of gay friends also, and they've really turned on me on this. I'm tired of being called a 'bigot.' I told 'em, when they go after America's sons, America's moms and dads will go after them. Push is coming to shove for me, and I decided a long time ago on the Boy Scouts. It's a great organization, and my sons have benefited greatly from it. It's helping them to grow into the kind of young men I'd like them to grow into. Few other influences (outside family and friends) are helping with that essential task.

Rush has been afraid for years to say anything that might offend the gays. Not Savage.

It's about time someone broke the dam.

This is an unconstitutional imposition on the judges who might want to be involved with Scouts.

I hope there's one judge to make a thing about this. I hope he joins the scouts, and they take it to court. Let it go all the way to the Supreme Court. This is an assault on first amendment rights.

San Francisco Superior Court judges and commissioners adopted a policy July 11 saying they would not take part in any organization that "discriminates on the basis of sexual orientation by excluding members on the grounds that their sexual orientation renders them 'unclean,' 'immoral' or 'unfit.' "

O.K. I promise not to say that homosexuals are 'unclean,' 'immoral' or 'unfit.'

Can I simply point that they are more likely to try to sexually molest my son?

Can I simply point out that if the Catholic Church's problem was celibacy and not too many homosexual priests, the newspaper headlines would be that Catholic priest were trying to seduce our wives and daughters rather than our sons?

And that's all it takes. This is such a poorly drafted policy that I'd never want to hire any of the lawyers involved in writing it. And shame on the Judges for adopting it.

"This is a fundamental part of being a judicial officer . . . avoiding even the appearance of partiality at all times so that every litigant who appears in front of you is treated fairly and equally," said Angela Bradstreet, president of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

No, No, No, Angela! If we have learned anything from the Senate Judiciary Commitee hearings, it is that prospective judges must not appear impartial. They must express unconditional support for the liberal agenda or they are unfit.

This ruling might actually have some benefit for Catholics if the Pope or Cardinals would stand up and say: “Homosexuality is incompatible with the priesthood”…. and take the same moral stand as the Boy Scouts. Maybe the Gays would withdraw all their adherents from the Seminaries and Parishes. This would thwart their evil intent toward Catholic Youth as their evil itent toward the Boy Scouts has been thwarted.

Homosexuals, if so truly concerned about scouting opportunities for gays, should go out and form their homosexual scouts organization.

A Gay Scout organization with Gay Scoutmasters? They already have such an organization – the North American Man-Boy Love Association – NAMBLA. The Gays look at the Boy Scouts the same way they look at Catholic altar boys: as vitally important potential recruits. After all, Gays don’t reproduce … they must recruit.

All I can say is that I'm glad that the Boy Scouts had the fortitude to say no. They have preserved a great institution for this and future generations. As for NAMBLA and the Catholic Church - it's clear that a lot of homosexual men are sexually attracted to teenage boys, and that a lot of them can't control those attractions. My sons are a hundred times safer in the Boy Scouts than with a Catholic priest.

"avoiding even the appearance of partiality at all times so that every litigant who appears in front of you is treated fairly and equally"

How does avoiding the "appearance" of partiality ensure that every litigant is "treated fairly and equally"? Appearanced don't mean squat. Well, the leftists think appearances are everything.

Catholic (and Christian) morality teaches that it is sinful to engage in homosexual acts. The Catholic Church has allowed somewhere around 1/3 to 1/2 of its priests to be homosexual. The majority of these priests are (homo)sexually active, and a large subset of them are dangerous around teenage boys. For the Catholic Church to expect that it can ordain thousands and thousands of homosexual priests, and that they can live together in close quarters for long periods of time and for no sexual activity to occur is just stupid. Further, when they allow such men to be in close quarters with teenage boys, and expect nothing to happen is just criminal. In Boy Scouts, kids are explicitly warned (through a movie shown every year) about the dangers of homosexual molestation, they are not allowed to be alone with any adult, and avowed homosexuals are not allowed to be with teenage boys. The Catholic Church should follow the same policies - if it's really serious about protecting young boys from homosexual molestation.
