Maybe so, but I still am astonished at how brazen this act was given all the recent publicity of what appears to be an epidemic. Maybe these evil perverts get off on the publicity. Poor child. My own child is worth more to me than some guy down on his luck. (I give to charity, but wouldn't invite a stranger into my home...if the guy was a stranger.) Even so, it smells fishy. The caregiver wasn't even her real father. How sad for the real father. How sad for the mother who thought that her child was in a safe environment.

but noooooooooo...FIRST they have to victimize and traumatize a 12 member jury with all the graphic details of the brutality....after it gets tossed around the courtroom, the convicted "monster" gets shipped off air-conditioned comfort, 3 squares a day, cable TV and medical/dental care paid for by the tax payers.
Make ya sick or what?
When the victim has the perps DNA under their fingernails (like Samantha R)...what more is needed? Hand down the verdict then take the SOB out to the wood pile.

oh - don't misunderstand me. It is absolutely NOT ACCEPTABLE to put that little girl at risk like that. I don't give a damn what the circumstances are. I'd sleep under a f'n rock with my daughter tied to my hip rather than make her "available" for some stranger.
BUT...What I don't know is all the facts in this case and I'm trying to keep from rushing to judgement... perhaps the guy had left and sneaked back in - perhaps she did wander outside - I don't want to rip into the father or the mother until I have good reason and proof.

We know this guy is quilty. Why the time and expense of a jury trial. We should string him up, but those liberals would start whining about his constitutional "rights". If he wanted rights, he wouldn't have killed that girl.

HUH? You mean red red haired white guys could never do such a thing? LOL

Yeah, I don't want to rip into the parents either. They are already suffering horribly. The very idea of having to ID your dead child is so very sad. I'm just suprised and shocked by how iresponsible some parents can be. As if that sort of thoughtlessness, neglect or just plain guillible attitudes towards the homeless as being harmless, down-on-their-luck people who just need a little help has not been going on since time immemorial...

What am I full of old-ager? "It" -- you know. While you made it look like you were making fun of yourself, nonetheless you implied some ulterior motive in covering the story. In my book, that makes you full of "it".
Oh, and by the way, I am a lady and expect to be spoken to with some degree of respect, even in disagreement.
I think I have used an appropriate degree of respect. In any case, it is probably all I am going to use addressing somebody who appears to be trying to sidetrack a discussion of something this serious.

There were wintesses who saw the little girl with Johnson this morning walking toward the glass factory - she was riding on his shoulders - the witnesses did not suspect anything at the time. Poor little girl - he must have lured her - she probably went willingly.

RMDupree:Tinfoil Hat ON; I believe that this rash of hot and heavy coverage of missing childrens' cases is no accident. alisasny: From what I can gather there are about 100 stranger abductions of children per year at this time. A few years ago it was about 300 per year.
ksen: As soon as I saw your "Tinfoil Hat ON" line the same thought about Digital Angel popped into my head. I think you may be on to something.
HiJinx: Not to downplay a parent's angst over the disappearance of a child, but the upswing in media coverage is disturbing. Are they trying to get the word out as quickly as possible to aid in the rescue? Or is the coverage driven by a more sinister motive?
Mindprism: Now how did I know, 3 months ago, that we would be seeing more of these abduction cases on TV?
National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Thrownaway Children
Non-Family Abductions*
Broad Scope Attempted Non-Family Abductions: 114,600 children.
These represent attempted abductions: for example, luring of a child for the purposes of committing another
crime.
Policy Focal Non-Family
Abductions: 3,200 to 4,600 children.
These are (1) the coerced and unauthorized taking of a child into a building, a vehicle, or a distance of more
than 20 feet; (2) the detention of a child for a period of more than an hour; or (3) the luring of a child for the
purpose of committing another crime.
Findings. Broad Scope: Children aged 4 to 11 experienced most of the attempts. Most involved attempts to
lure children into cars rather than attempts to take or detain. Political Focal: Almost half of the victims
were children age 12 and older. Seventy-four percent were girls. Sixty-two percent of the perpetrators were
strangers and 19% were acquaintances. Most were removed from the street (52%) and taken to a vehicle
(46%). Force was used against 87% of the victims; it involved a weapon in 75% of the cases. Ransom was
requested in 8% of the cases.

3,200 to 4,600 children anually, about 10 a day in US.
Question: Is it a slow summer, or is this a... 'media fashion trend'? How did the media miss thousands of abductions last year?
smirk.
Oh. I get it, its 'Reality TV' Oprah style. A little palette cleansing side-dish to that gritty war-on-terror thing.
Are we safe yet? Are we safe yet?
Things that make you go hmmmm.

[re:digital angels in kids]: The convicted Child Molesters are the ones who should have the implants! LMAO- shhhh! you want to bring down the ACLU on all of us??
To: Delbert
Delbert,
You are obviously in agony over this, as many are.
I will write a letter to the President also.
I don't know if he can really help, each state has their
own laws. I'd like to see a new Federal Law where
after the trial, child molestor/murderers are immediately
hung.
Stay alert in your neighborhood. Have safe houses on
your block where children know they can go to if they
have to.
Pray and pray.

If the courts are going to turn them loose into the general population, then we should have some protection against them! If the courts are going to turn them loose into the general population... then they need to be put in the public stocks for a week and withstand our little re-initiation ritual.
