Having grown up near Valley Park and as poor white trash - it is not all that strange for people to let "homeless" non-strangers stay on their couch. However, when people have kids in the house they should take much more care as to the people they let in their house. Still I saw this kind of thing happen all the time when I was a kid.

I'm glad to know that I am not the only one having these thoughts. I'm no more paranoid than anyone else, but this sudden rash of child abduction media coverage raises my eyebrows. Not because it is necessarily bad, but because it was never so publicized before.
I'd like to think that their motives are pure, but this is the liberal media we're dealing with. There is always something behind the scenes with them.
But, at least the kids have a fighting chance now that everyone is notified within minutes of the abduction so we can take good out of the possible bad.

Why does it take so long to use the dogs? I don't understand why it always seems to take so long? I'd think that they would want to lem 'em go asap?

The suspicious man is a homeless man they let sleep at their house a couple of nights. When cops found him, he was coming out of river with shirt off and he was dripping wet, claiming he went for a swim. Cop they interviewed said he thought the homeless man's story was a bunch of crap -- on the news just now.

Sad about this little girl. Also in the news this week, in Georgia a 14 month old little boy was abducted from his home during an apparent robbery. The abductors also took a safe from the home. I don't know much more than that.

We used to canoe in the Meramac when I was a little boy and shoot my Daddy's rifle at stuff on the bank. One time I had a perfect shot at a gopher sitting on its haunches on a stump but was too squeamish to pull the trigger. Guess I was never cut out to be a hunter. It was in Grandma's old wooden canoe. Those were some of the best days of my life. Hate to remember them in this context.
Anyway, point being even back then (maybe especially back then, in the sixties) I wouldn't have dipped a toe in that river. Very very muddy. Great for canoeing, not for swimming.

I guess it takes time to organize it, most scent dogs live in private homes.

I think they are trying to do a better job of going right into action with breaking news, etc., as soon as a child is missing.... rather than the old way of waiting 24 hours before starting the search, then dragging their feet. There is the AMBER alert system for missing kids. In Houston there is the LAURA SMITHERS center for missing kids. We are trying to find them and get them back alive nowadays!!!!

"Why should everyone else have to suffer (be implanted and tracked) just so we can let these morons walk among the rest of us?"
How about turning the tables? Plant the chips in these perverts privates so we can track them. Plus if you plant them there they won't be wanting to have it removed because if they did they wouldn't be able to rape again!

I am totally with you on public televised hangings. Needles are too sanitized. Hangings are efficient, relatively painless, and quick. I think they've stood the test of time as the best form of execution in history. They started using electricity cuz they thought anything electric was cool not not realizing they were actually burning them to death.
I am all for televised hanging.

Is an abducted child a tragedy? Yes!
Is the story the news is reporting a tragedy? Well, this one seems to be, but my point was let's not get hysterical and jump to conclusions based on sensational reporting. That's all. If I were in the neighborhood, I would be looking for the child, not admonishing everyone to wait and see if she comes back on her own. But I wouldn't be mourning her yet and I wouldn't be weeping uncontrollably or telling tales of strange, shadowy men and advocating the arrest of every suspicious passer-by to TV reporters either.
To: spectre
If it wasn't DW that did her in, how do you explain her blood in his motor home and on his jacket?
