Travis, do you realize that there isn't ONE forensic psychologist who can link watching Porn, albeit disgusting, to rape/murder?

If they could, we'd see one on the stand.

This may be the first case in US history, that convicts someone of Murder with the PORN Motive as an instignator.

Put down the DW Cool Aid for a minute.

You honestly believe that DW is just a typical normal run-of-the-mill VIOLENT CHILD RAPE VIDEO COLLECTOR who just "happened" to have Danielle's blood, fingerprints, hair and fibers in his Rv?

Folks that can believe that also believe that OJ is innocent and we never went to the moon.

Ta Ta Folks, enjoy your DW Cool Aid.

If going to a basketball game was illegal, and I found tapes of basketball games in a guy's apartment, it would be relevent. Not because the tapes made him go to a basketball game, but because the tapes would strongly suggest that the subject had an interest in basketball.

As to the case as a whole, the most compelling evidence for the prosecution is the DNA evidence and the fact that Westerfield's MH had been so thoroughly scrubbed. The porn and wierd trip on the weekend is strongly supportive. They've muddied their case up by using the kitchen sink method of throwing out everything they can think of (the dog "hit" evidence comes to mind), and their biggest fubar is not coming up with ANYTHING to counter the bug evidence. They KNEW this would be an issue. The wide time frame of body dumping is a clear indication that they fudged facts to make it fit their theory, and this could sink the prosecution. As to the possibility of the orange fibers having come from department personnel, this should never have been a factor. Should have been checked and a definite answer available. If it was department, don't bring it up. If it wasn't, blow the defense out of the water when they suggest it.

Prosecution wasn't ready to go to trial, but did it because of publicity of case. Nobody should have suggested prosecuting without knowing how DW got ahold of her and what happened later. I don't really buy the kept her body preserved some way theories. My suspicion is that DW was involved, but not alone. I think she was kept alive for reasons too terrible to contemplate, then murdered and dumped later.

If true, then why hasn't Feldman put on evidence, about this?

An article yesterday, in The Orange County Register revealed that Avila (alleged murderer of Samantha) had child porn, connected with the 2000 trial for child molestation.

People hold many feelings, beliefs, regardless of expert testimony, or absence thereof. I believe child porn falls into a category like that.

So unless Feldman puts on a strong expert, jurors are likely to connect child porn with these horrific crimes against children.

I have a serious question. Many on FR have made what seem to be good suggestions, for the defense. Yours surely falls into that category. Do you simply think Feldman isn't as sharp as you folks, and is just missing all of these opportunities?

Are some suggestions being passed along to his office?

Or could it be possible, that some of these items have been investigated, and have turned out to be not true?

I would think if it could be shown that no correllation exists between child porn, and child murder, that the defense would put it on. Wouldn't you?

Run TED BUNDY PORNOGRAPHY through a search engine and you will find lots of studys linking pornography and crime. Having said that I'm not sure that I don't agree with you. But here is an excerpt from an interview:

http://www.forerunner.com/forerunner/X0332_Ted_Bundy.html

What we learned from Ted Bundy

In the last few hours prior to his widely-publicized execution for the murder of as many as 50 young women and girls from Utah, Washington, Idaho, Colorado and Florida, the serial killer asked Christian psychologist James Dobson to visit him at the Florida State Prison. Bundy had corresponded with Dr. Dobson - a former member of President Reagan's Commission on Pornography - for two years prior to their meeting. While anxious reporters waited outside, Bundy told Dobson about the influence of pornography on his behavior.

Bundy said he began casually reading soft-core pornography when he was 12 or 13 years old. His friends found pornographic books in the garbage cans in his neighborhood: "(F)rom time to time we would come across pornographic books of a harder nature ... a more graphic, explicit nature than we would encounter at the local grocery store," he told Dobson in the taped interview. "But slowly throughout the years reading pornography began to become a deadly habit.

"My experience with pornography ... is once you become addicted to it, (and I look at this as a kind of addiction like other kinds of addiction), I would keep looking for more potent, more explicit, more graphic kinds of material. Like an addiction, you keep craving something that is harder, something which gives you a greater sense of excitement. Until you reach a point where the pornography only goes so far, you reach that jumping off point where you begin to wonder if maybe actually doing it would give you that which is beyond just reading or looking at it."

Within a few years, those latent desires fueled by pornography were expressed through his first murder. Although Bundy said he did not blame pornography, he explained that pornographic materials shaped and molded his behavior. He also warned the nation that "the most damaging kinds of pornography ... are those that involve violence and sexual violence. Because the wedding of those two forces, as I know only too well, brings out the hatred that is just, just too terrible to describe."

Bundy said that pornography "snatched me out of my home 20, 30 years ago ... and pornography can reach out and snatch a kid out of any house today." His religious training and morality initially restrained him from acting out his fantasies, but he confessed that finally, "I couldn't hold back anymore."

Alcohol supposedly broke the restraints for him to commit his first murder. "What alcohol did in conjunction with exposure to pornography is (sic) alcohol reduced my inhibitions at the same time the fantasy life that was fueled by pornography eroded them further."
