He studies insects their pattern of activity, how they mature and interact with that body... various types of bugs will be excluded because of the mummification. larvaes can't penetrate hardened skin

So now we have Danielle's hands, feet (or foot) and part of her face mummified. (lack of moisture)
The man who waters the golf course near by testified that there was frosted greens (moisture)on Feb. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11.
So it appears Danielle couldn't have been in that location in order to mummify before 13-16 because the moisture would have made her rot instead of mummify.
