The fact that Angela planned for her son to be baptised on the day of the kidnapping leads me to believe she wasn't in the know on the kidnapping. OR more likely, they figured the baptism would afford a good alibi during some other significant event like ES being transported from a temporary hiding place to something more permanent.
Unless one is on his deathbed, Baptisms are planned.
