Now hopefully he'll talk... and make sense.
To: mhking
Paul did get up & say he wanted the postponement, but how they voted, I don't know. I figured LaTourette voted present.
To: combustication
Well, they got over 2/3 total. However, a lot of them might have egg on their faces in the long run if it proves that Traficant was railroaded by the government. It's happened lots of times before.
To: mhking
Are you guessing or do we know that?

A conscience picture of Jim...he is looking all puppy dog eyed in that pic...of course wearing a puppy on your head will let that happen.

"Brown Pants" "Where's the beef?" "You aren't secure enough to change"
LOL! LOL! LOL!
I love this guy, but he totally self destructed up there.. He brought no notes, went off the cuff and blew any chance he had.
No one is going to vote for him, it would be to embarrassing now to follow that performance with a nay.
"In my heart, I really believe I won that trial"
You know what? I bet he does..
To: NormsRevenge
This group of men and women should all have the roof collapse on them, as Jim walks out the door! What a nasty group of lowlifes. And how about that punk salesman from Missouri. There is no hope for this country.......at all. These people are LOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jimbo may not be completely clean, but this House is a group of corrupt, spineless jellyfish. And Zoe Lofgren is a spineless HOG!
To: PJ-Comix

I can also vouch that she is not. But I nominate the suggestion for Most Clueless Statement of the Evening.

Hulshof is a very smart lawyer who was a public defender and a prosecutor that knocked off Volkmer in a tough race in a marginal district in 1996. He has an ability to attract crossover votes (he carried the university town of Columbia), was elected chairman of his freshman class in the House, and may well be a senator some day. In fact, I suspect he is next on deck after Talent.

Nevertheless Trafficant is GUILTY. Expel him. I'd rather Congress/Senate spend its energy expelling the real crooks. Traficant is nailed and Toricelli/Condit get to walk? That's too bizarre. What ever you may think of him, Traficant certainly wasn't as deep into it as Toricelli, and certainly wasn't involved in the obstruction of justice in an intern's death.
To: mlibertarianj
Most of them were probably on the floor for the vote on the motion. This is so rare that most of them stuck around to see what was going to happen with the speeches. Right now I see that 80 or so haven't voted yet.
To: xsmommy
How long does he have to clear out his office?
To: Two Thirds Vote Aye
They believe this will make them look good I guess. He is so not like them in dress, presumed class and demeanor they have never been able to stand him, yet he kept getting elected. They saw their chance and went for it.
Now what is there excuse for not going after the others?
To: mlibertarianj
This expulsion process still wasn't clear to me. Maybe the Senate can do one to help me understand it better. How about the junior senator from New York?
To: Jimer
Who will get ahold of Trafficant first? Donahue, King or Oprah?
