Man arrested after dozing off while rolling joint

Police have arrested a man who was asleep at the wheel of his car with a bag of marijuana on his lap.

Officers in Cleveland in the US went to investigate the truck parked outside a bar with its lights on.

They say the driver believes he fell asleep while rolling himself a joint.

Before waking him police sergeant Mark Clark took pictures for evidence according to the Plain Dealer newspaper.

Middlefield police Chief Dave Easthon says the man admitted the offence and was due to appear in court next week.

Years ago, when I lived in Cleveland, my visiting brothers went bar hopping. On the drive home, they decided they were too drunk to drive, pulled over and went to sleep. They woke up the next morning in the middle of a ghetto in East Cleveland.

When they returned to my apartment the next morning I read them the riot act. (Fortunately they turned out to be conservative adults.)

What is about Cleveland and falling asleep in your car?

I hated the city and it's weather but the people were just fantastic.
