Pyrimethamine, one of the anti-malarial drugs, has that side effect. If Bill was taking that drug, it is certainly possible. My father's hair (what little there was of it) was jet black until the day he died, so it didn't turn his hair white.

In the early days, malaria was endemic to the Washington DC area; you didn't have to travel someplace exotic to get it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it was really wiped out until DDT was invented. I know that's the case in Sri Lanka and other tropical locations. When the enviros got them to ban DDT malaria came back, a lot of people died, and the governments started using it again anyway. That's why I sometimes call enviros the Friends of the Anopheles Mosquito.

The report I read over lunch today in USA today says that Malaria can have an incubation period of up to four years -- so they do not know where Matthews contracted the disease.

When I went trekking in Nepal a few years back I was vaccinated for Meningococcus, Typhoid, Polio, Denque Fever, Hepatitus B and a few others that I can't even remember. I was also given a shot of immunoglobulin and anti-malarial pills for the trip that I had to take at intervals. I also used one of those 0.22 micron backpacking pumps for water purification.

My arm was sore after that!...........but I never got sick.

Sounds like you're really a Matthews butt boy. I watched the mouth Matthews all during the Klintoon impeachment and he spent practically every show bringing on shills for the Sinkmeister, and agreeing with them. And yes, if you think my disgust with Chris Matthews makes me mean spirited--a trite characterization mostly used by liberals--then I'm proud of it.
