I think it's uncalled for to make fun of someone whose suffering from a disease.I just can't believe that he is taking up valuable hospital space and turning the attentions of overwoking nurses and other healing personnel just because he's been dizzy, has a headache and is very tired.
He should TAKE THE CHLOROQUIN AND GO TO BED. But don't make such a big deal out of it.
It is not as bad as the flu or a cold. I know.

As much as I think of the guy as a pompus windbag, I hope he recovers and continues to give us more stuff to laugh about.

He probably came into contact with one of Hillary's pant suits or a patch of Sharpton's hair.
To: Cautor
Are you always this much of an idiot?
To: JZoback
Excuse me, but I have heard Matthews trash the Clintons on numerous occasions. It went WAY beyond 'the office'--especially when he talked about Hillary. So, no, I did NOT get that from a dem media handbook.
And my post that he hates MOST Republicans is correct. Even moderates can STILL be Republicans. I said REPUBLICANS........NOT.....Conservatives. He adores McCain, who is STILL a registered Republican.
And yes, I know he worked for Tip O'Neil.
You need to read the posts more carefully, I think.

My father was stationed in the pacific during WWII and had a very bad case of malaria. My dad got the same thing, in the same area. He ended up losing most of his hair as a result (at least that's what the doctors told him).

I wonder if this will change his position on Rachel Carson and her lies.

Quick! Order that man a gin and tonic!! (There's a reason why Teddy Kennedy will never get malaria.) LOL. And, let him do the show. I'm sure that, even with the Malaria, he won't sound any more delusional than usual. If necessary, just increase his dosage of Clinton/MCaniac koolaid.

Will it turn your hair white? I knew a GI that was a Ranger in the Philippines who was with the group that went behind the Jap lines to liberate that POW camp. I can't remember the commanders name but it is featured on TV once in a while. "Bill" told me he got the white hair because of that raid.

What's the prognosis for the mosquito? The poor thing died instantly of a rectal-cranial inversion.
To: Redcloak
Precisely. The "tonic" in tonic water is quinine which eases the symptoms of malaria. A gin and tonic, by the way, was the first known drinkable laser. The quinine fluoresces and has a metastable transition that allows lasing to occur. Probably best to drink it quickly, as opposed to looking at it for an extended period. Does it resonate at 514 nanometers or less?

Don't know, but he's an avid traveler. I wouldn't be surprised!

Malaria? Or menopause?
To: justshe
He also gets into it with Begala from what I've seen.
I enjoy the skits they do on SNL of him. Chris Cattan is hilarious as Paul Begala.
To: Dark Mirage
Exactly!
Boy, would I love to kick Gore square in the @$$!

Chris Matthews in Hospital in Washington with Malaria! If Arnold finds out about this, he'll be mad.

When I travel to strange places...the Doc's give me a drawer full of injections, pills, and vacinations. I wonder if he got his travel shots?
To: The Raven
I wonder if he got his travel shots? There's no shot for malaria. And the side effects from taking prophylactic antimalarials are often too upsetting for many travelers. Headaches, nausea, tension, bad tempers, etc.
Most of the travelers I've met give them up after a few weeks, even in the subtropics.
In the third world, travelers are much more apt to encounter problems such as food poisoning (buy a week's supply of Cipro), rabies, and meningitis. I've seen/heard of people dying from all three (e.g., a Massachusetts woman who died near Boston, four weeks after being bitten by a dog in Nepal; the guy I took to the hospital who was half-comatose and nearly dead from dehydration/food poisoning; the Nepal trekkers who contracted meningitis, one of whom died before getting back to Kathmandu).
