[history]
Just weeks after a federal judge overruled South Carolina Gov. Jim Hodges' orders to forcibly prevent the Department of Energy from trucking several tons of nuke plutonium to its Savannah River Site (SRS), where it is to be converted into mixed oxide reactor fuel (MOX), Congress overruled the objections of Nevada politicos, authorizing the department to truck tens of thousands of tons of partially "spent" nuclear fuel to Yucca Mountain for indefinite burial.

The obstructionist intervenors and various and sundry kooks and wackos are well-versed in the tactics of delay and obfuscation, as were the Clintonoids, who are part and parcel of the same wad of scum. In the real world, you can kill any project if you delay it long enough. People leave, or just lose interest. In the somewhat less reliable world of government-funded efforts, it is even more uncertain, with progress towards completion being subject to redirection or cancellation every election cycle. The wackos know all they need do is file enough lawsuits or petitions to intervene to stretch things beyond the next election, and they have a chance to derail it.

I'm bumping this old article because it documents one more way that the clinton (mal-)administration will be responsible when a nuclear device goes off in a city near you.

I'm bumping this old article because it documents one more way that the clinton (mal-)administration will be responsible when a nuclear device goes off in a city near you. Amen. It started with Jimmy Carter's ( we called him Wee Jimmy when he was Governor here, because "he's like a real governor, only smaller." He didn't grow into the office of President any better, sorry to say. ) muddle-headed Executive Order outlawing the recycling of nuclear waste- a process many other nations do, and have done safely for decades.
Naturally, the Clintophilliacs took a bad situation and made it worse.
