That is, if you need a personal pronoun to refer to a party with gender and number unknown, you use "they." In other words, that particular choice of the pronoun "they," in that context, argues most strongly for his knowing absolutely nothing about the perpetrator. I can't believe that you are introducing logic, common sense and expertise into this debate, LOL. We have an interesting mix of insensitivity, intolerance, imagination and ignorance on this thread - the four Is.

Very good question. From what my friends who live in Utah say, the level of direct involvement from LDS hierarchy is not the norm. (getting my flame proof suit on) The questions are not attacking you and your core beliefs Mormon FReepers. Really we all want to know more than the media will spoon feed to the sheeple.
