House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt (D-Mo.) has told senior Democrats that the party could pick up as many as 40 House seats if the continuously unfolding corporate scandals can be kept on the political radar screen until November, according to sources.

Sounds like ol' Tricky Dick and the Democrats have some real incentive to fix the economy/stock market before the elections. Nice of them to sacrifice the country to their political power grab.

Will everyone who is in a state that has redistricted please contact me privately and give me the number of total seats gained and the likely gain/loss to the GOP of those extra seats only? It is my reading of the redistricting earlier in the year that the GOP was virtually guaranteed 20+ (I think 26 was the number I heard) NEW seats just from redistricting.

Gores campaign manager blames Zogby for Gore losing the election. Zogby's polling made gore go to california and campaign instead of going to Tennesee. Zogby believed that Gore would win his own home state, but was in danger of losing california (god that was stupid of them). He also told Gore that west virginian's are showing high concern about gun control and the enviorment. He talked like a enriormental ass and gun grabber, The concern these people has was about losing there fire arms and there jobs (they worked in the coal mines). Say what you want about John Zogby, many here flame him with great regularity, but we all watched other polls (particularly that one that called people using a phone system)that had Bush up in Florida...big time (not), winning Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa and even Pennsylvania. All were wrong, so Bush's pollsters goofed too. All I am saying is Zogby was the only pollster who had the race close at election time and was correct....all others were wrong. The moral is to be careful in slamming Zogby. As much as I hate the fact that he is a Democrap, he is more accurate than others when polling the big picture.

I think they are doing more than praying. Between having Clinton believers like Robert Rubin and Alan Greenspan in positions to deliberately manipulate stock prices downward, and Bush's failure to clean house at IRS, SEC, etc, there is going to be more bad news in the coming months for the sole purpose of affecting the elections (IMHO)
