Sneed hears rumbles Leon Panetta, former President Bill Clinton's chief of staff, will be named to the U.S. Conference of Bishops review board charged with studying the root of the priest sexual abuse scandal.
Word is Panetta, a former U.S. representative from California and former director of the Office of Management and Budget during the incoming Clinton administration, was chosen for his ability to take a stand and not be intimidated by the bishops' conference.
Does anybody know how to register complaints effectively?
Is the fact that the Bishop's would choose polictians to begin with, and especially one such as this, indicative that the spiritual tumor is still there in their ranks?
Uh....Riiiiiiiiiiiiight....
Is the Pope Catholic?
The Bishops are some of the most disengenuous politicians I've ever seen. Why wouldn't they appoint those who operate like them?
One would be foolish to think that the corruption in the Catholic Church will change as long as the current hierarchy is in place -- and that goes right to the top.
Second, the former Republican Govenor of Oklahoma(Frank Keating) heads the committe.
Third, as much as I despise anyone associated with the Clinton Administration. Leon Pannetta has always taken a strong stance against pedophiles....Since the scope of this committe is limited to infractions of the clergy, this may be a good fit.

Isn't this like saying he believes in mom and apple pie? What else does he bring to the table except making excuses for a serial sexual predator?
Well, that IS what they're looking for.
This could be a trial baloon. Now is the time to register complaints, before it becomes official.
Who knows how to do that effectively.
Here's the address, but I've already given you all of it (I don't know how to do a link.)

Is it safe to make similar assumptions about: the Cuomo's, Rudi G., D'Amato, the Daley's, the Kennedy's, Richard Durbin, etc., etc., etc.

Won't it be a lot harder for them to retreat if it becomes official, and isn't there a good chance they are putting it out there this way first to measure the apathy.
Does e-mail do any good. Thanks for the addresses.
When I want to get rid of weeds, I just kill them all. I don't "study the roots."
What is a "practicing Catholic" anyway? Somebody who's not good at it yet?
