"There is no place in the world for terrorist madmen."We need to hear more of this common sense.
HISTORICAL NOTE: The King of Poland defeated the Mohammedans and ran them out of Europe in 1683 at the Battle of Vienna. Until very recently, they haven't bothered us much since then.

The Poles, above everyone else, knows the consequences of letting madmen go unchecked. Hitler. Stalin. The whole line of Soviet dictators. I'm not surprised Poland is the voice of reason in Europe.

We've all made our share of mistakes which we regret. True. But its somewhat unclear if Kwasniewski isn't still communist. His party is certainly quite leftist.

Some of the best anti-Communists were former Communists, from George Orwell to Whittaker Chambers. As long as he is with us against the Islamic lunatics, he's okay in my book. Funny how the Eastern Europeans are more pro-US than the Western Europeans.

They know what liberalism is all about. I was in Prague when Hillarycare was being debated. Czech friends were stunned we would even consider it. "Tell Mr Clinton not to do it, "one told me, "It is the same system we had here under communism."
I didn't have the heart to tell him Hillary is a communist.

The Poles never accepted communism or Soviet rule during the cold war. They rose up against it several times till they finally threw them out.
People who are willing to fight for freedom deserve it.

Ping for #9. Immigrants from communist nations often call in to talk radio, astounded that Americans don't see that our news is propaganda. They get it immediately.

You're very welcome.

Their military prowess extends even to the 20th century. They stopped the fledgling Red Army at the gates of Warsaw in 1920 (or was it '21?) and exiles distinguished themselves as pilots in the Battle of Britain.
In addition, a Pole cracked the Nazi's ULTRA code before the outbreak of WWII. I watched a show on this on the History Channel a few months back. Tragically, none of his work was transfered to the western allies and so the folks at Bletchley Park had to "reinvent the wheel" and break it on their own.

I was in Prague when Hillarycare was being debated. No kidding? I lived there after I got out of the Army, from '92 through '96. I was a Czech translator in the army, so I moved to Prague to see what a "post-revolutionary" country looked like. I loved the place. So utterly different from the US. It was kind of a "second university" for me. I usually felt much more at home discussing politics in zlata Praha than I ever did at the U. The girls were prettier and unabashedly feminine, and if you couldn't make time with them, the beer was consolation enough!
On the whole, I was content to watch Clinton's America from afar.

We were there at the same time. Wasn't that cute when Clinton visited and went to see his old commie buddies up in Hradcanska? I lived in Haje next to the last stop on the subway to Opatov. One of those Stalinesque workers apartments. 5th floor. Concrete walls, floor and ceiling. Steel door on the bathroom. No control over heat or hot water. My diet consisted of sunka, pivo, syr and bread (forget the Czech name). A beautiful city.
