Who exactly is holding the gun to the head of the folks selling land to the Nature Conservancy?
At least they do buy it. TNC is about the least radical environmental group you can find.

I live in Wayne Gilchrest's district, and he is a pure RINO. I make my living counting beans for a large land developer on Delmarva, and my whole company is getting pretty nervous about the land grabs. Between Glendening's new bill, and now Gilchrest's legislation, we should be out of business in the near future.

Well traveling the entire east coast, one coastal town to the next will show why it is worth it to save what little remains of the original habitat.
A conservation success- preserving Hatteras National Seashore for one has to be the best thing that ever happened to the east coast beaches!

It never ceases to amaze me the lack of geographical knowledge of some of these people.
15 years ago I attempted to explain to Gilchrest that Delaware IS NOT the eastern shore. Only Maryland and Virginia have "eastern shores" on the Chesapeake Bay - Delaware is not on the Chesapeake.
I'd also love to know why they are calling this project "DelMarVa" when there is nothing going on in Virginia (yet)????
Wackos - all of them.
