Tourism and some agriculture...that ain't much. I guess we can't expect any useful and saleable labor saving inventions coming out of Yasserland anytime soon. Before there can be an economy, there has to be a market which encourages invention and competition.

The economy NEVER was an issue for Arafat and his gang. Besides of course pocketing untold billions. With a good will from Arab neighbors, and prime location like theirs, what would stop the Israel-Palestine confederation from repeating Hong Kong success plus some? Would it be better or worse for the "working families"? There were some Palestinian businessmen who did business with Jews. Arab-Israelis still do. There were some news that Arab villages mayors saying they prefer rule of Israel to rule of lawless PA. Of course, such businessmen and politicians are better be silent now or they'll be shot dead like collaborators. It's all sounds like a pipe dream now, but Israeli entrepreneurship did uplift Israel. They could have been uplifted together, if Arabs would not want to destroy Israel since 1948.
