#1) You're either gay or you're not. The writer states he is a man "who formerly lived as a homosexual." So he starts out either lying or is deluded.

But you're assuming that "you're either gay or you're not" is a true statement. Some folks have a different view of how one goes queer. Who has been proven, without a doubt, CORRECT? Not you. Homosexuality is a huge toe-trample for alot of the religious right, and it's just plain RUDE to try to shove the homosexual agenda up the RR's collective a$$. Hell, folks are suing over their rights not to be offended every day in this country. What about conservatives, huh?

#2) I've been to an MCC Church here locally on several occassions. (The congregation is mostly gay, but there are also quite a few "straight" members.) I have never heard anyone suggest that Jesus (or any of his desciples) was gay.

That doesn't mean that someone somewhere ain't preaching it. Hell, I heard a man stand up and yak for two solid hours, in an academic enviro with folks taking him dead seriously, about how Jesus was a vegan. Non-lacto, or whatever the hell they call it, and all.

Just another hate-filled load of crap trying to disguise itself as a loving Christian concern.

Characteristic of a true Christian is hating sin, but loving the sinner, unlike other folks, including alot of gays I've noticed... I noticed nothing "hate-filled" in the above article being directed at individuals. You're projecting.

You can't reason with some folks, like that vegan-preaching whack-job I mentioned above... Audience members lobbed queries at him like "what about the bread and the fishes?" and he would hem and haw and wriggle his way through some tortuous explanation like "oh some texts don't say 'fish'..."

Most people are so caught up in their own petty grievances and delusions, they can't see anything else.

If you ever see him again, lob this one at him:

Matthew 9:10
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

I tried that on one of those Jesus-was-a-vegan freaks, and he shut right up after stammering that Jesus must have let the publicans and sinners have all the meat. Even he knew how lame that was. :D
